WALT make links between different parts of the text Success Criteria When I am reading I will: Read topic sentences at the start of paragraphs to see what the paragraph is about. Skim and scan for keywords to help me understand what the text is about. Look carefully at pictures, diagrams, maps, tables etc to get information about what the text is about. Use information from different parts of the text to answer questions. Use information from different parts of the text to make a conclusion or assumption about it.

WALT use interesting words and phrases (vocabulary) in our writing. Success Criteria: We have used some of these tools to improve our use of vocabulary: thesaurus, dictionary Banish Boring Words Visuwords www word cards from the writing tool box used ideas borrowed from other writing used figurative writing eg similes, metaphors etc

WALT find perimeters, areas and volumes of simple shapes Success Criteria We have: Calculated perimeter by adding up the measurements of each side of the shape. We have put the correct unit of measurement after the total. Calculated area by multiplying the length by the width of the shape and recorded the answer as a squared measurement. Calculated volume by multiplying the length by the width by the height of the shape and recorded the answer as a cubic measurement.
Add a basic facts goal here. WALT: I can recall the division facts for the 7’s

Correctly understand and work out the information presented.	I have done this by rereading the text when I do not fully understand the text and by researching what I needed to find out. I know I have achieved this goal because I have done it in my writing.	My next step is to make links between different parts of the text.

Spell everyday [and|or difficult] words in my writing. Here is a link to my information report about snow leopards.	I have achieved my goal because I have, used the dictionary, sounded the word out, used the known part of the word to help me spell the rest, I have written the words out over and over and I have asked an expert speller.	My new writing goal is to use interesting words and phrases [vocabulary] in my writing.

Learn factors of numbers to 100 Learn common multiples of numbers to 10 Divisibility rules Solve times and division problems using            doubling and halving/            thirding and trembling/                               place value algorithms.	I have not achieved this goal yet but I am working on it. I have been practising this goal at maths time to work on it. Here is  link to a math blog I did	My next step is to solve multiplication and division problems using more than one strategy.
