The flag referendum

WALT: write a text that will persuade others.
New Zealand Should Keep The Current Flag
In my opinion New Zealand should keep the current flag.

My first point is that the Union Jack represents our connection with England. If we change our flag we might get kicked out of the commonwealth because the Queen might be offended…

The alternative flag is not good enough to change because the blue is not a very nice shade. Even though for some people the black represents the sports teams eg. All Blacks, Black Sticks and some more great achievers, for others it represents death so they don’t want a sign of death on the flag that represents them.

If we were to change the flag we would be disrespecting the people that went to war and fought for our country and especially the ones who never came back. Even though on the soldiers graves over seas they had a silver fern we still had the Union Jack flag.

Overall New Zealand should keep the same flag. IALT write a persuasive text about the NZ Flag Referendum.
